Fishing Report

AuSable River
Pier fishing picked up with a good number of Walleye entering the river. Try floating crawlers or casting body baits and twister tails. A couple Lake Trout were caught off the pier however they will be moving out to deeper water.

Van Etten/Ceder Lake
Fishing out on Van Ettan is starting to see a bit more activity as the days are beginning to warm up. Walleye, Pike and Perch are biting on crawlers and minnows.

Lake Huron

The skies are sunny, bright and blue today in the Oscoda area. This is going to be a beautiful week end to check out the hiking trails in the area or maybe take a walk down 294 steps to Iargo springs. Fishing Report

AuSable River
Fishing out at the mouth of the river is doing excellent right now, fish are being caught and just about everything is biting. Steelhead in the river biting on jigs, spawn and flies. Walleye being caught out in the big lake and also at the mouth of the river. The river is busy with fishermen off the pier. Fish are biting everything and anything all along the river banks…

Van Etten/Cedar Lake
Fishing out on Van Ettan is at a stand still waiting for warmer temps and the boats can get back out. There have been a few boats out and a few perch being caught. Warmer days are coming.

Trail Report

Hoist Lakes Trails Longer loops and steeper hills offer an exciting challenge in beautiful surroundings. The trailhead is six miles north of Glennie on the west side of M-65 where parking is available.

Corsair Ski Trails This trail is nestled in the beautiful Silver Valley area, surrounded by 120,000 acres of Huron National Forest. The Corsair system offers 44 miles of groomed and tracked trail with a variety of terrain, being one of the largest groomed trail networks in Michigan.

Eagle Run located two miles west of Oscoda on River Road. The trail runs along the banks of the AuSable River in the Huron National Forest, through mixed hardwoods and pines. The trail consists of 11 miles of groomed loops of varying lengths and difficulty. Trails are 13 feet wide and double packed.

Reid Lakeoffers six miles of gently rolling trails through an area of many ponds where you can easily find evidence of beaver activity. Parking lot is plowed but the trails are not groomed. The parking area and trailhead are located on the south side of M-72 across from Kohler Road. From Oscoda, follow F-41 north to M-72. Turn west and go 12.5 miles.
