Fourth of July Celebration
Oscoda’s annual Fourth of July Celebration, one of the community’s most cherished summer traditions. The festivities begin at Furtaw Field, where patriotic floats, marching bands, local organizations, classic vehicles, and community groups gather before making their way south along US-23 through downtown Oscoda in a lively parade that draws spectators from across Northeast Michigan. Families line the streets waving flags, collecting candy, and celebrating together as the parade fills the downtown with small-town charm and patriotic spirit.
After the parade, the celebration continues at Oscoda Beach Park, where visitors spend the afternoon enjoying Lake Huron’s sandy shoreline, playgrounds, splash pad, beach volleyball, and picnic areas while live entertainment, food vendors, and community activities create a festive atmosphere. As the sun begins to set over the lake, gather along the beach, boardwalk, and pier for the grand finale, a spectacular fireworks display launched over the water.
Whether you’re relaxing on the beach, enjoying live music with family and friends, or watching fireworks illuminate the shoreline, Oscoda’s Fourth of July Celebration perfectly captures the warmth, hospitality, and timeless traditions of a classic lakeside holiday.
