Michigan Walleye Tour – June 21-22

A popular destination for big lake walleye fishing, Oscoda is hosting the Michigan Walleye Tour where participants can experience the clear waters of Lake Huron during this two-day tournament in Oscoda. Anglers will test their skills against the lake’s walleye population amidst the scenic backdrop of Michigan’s Sunrise Coast.

Art on the Beach – June 28-29

For the last 40 years, this art show has attracted talent from around the region to show their handmade arts, crafts, and hobbies.  Only original artwork and handmade items are featured.  Enjoy this popular event highlighting the creativity of regional artisans on the lakeshore at Oscoda Beach Park.

Oscoda Rotary Bandshell Free Concert Thursdays at 7:00 pm, mid-June through mid-August

Oscoda Rotary Band Shell, located at Oscoda Beach Park, welcomes you to enjoy FREE live music every Thursday evening. Imagine yourself relaxing in your beach chair or reclined on a blanket listening to great live music on the shore of beautiful Lake Huron. What could be better? Follow the Rotary Club on Facebook for schedule announcements. Concerts will move to the AuSable Inn in the event of inclement weather.

Movies by the Pier – Free Event on Wednesdays in July & August

One of Oscoda’s most popular summertime features for families is the Summer Movie Series. Every Wednesday night in July & August, make your way to Oscoda Beach Park at dusk to spread out your beach blanket and enjoy free movies right on the beach! 4th of July Parade & Fireworks – July 4

This favorite community event, sponsored by the Oscoda-AuSable Chamber of Commerce, begins at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 4, 2024. The parade will form at Furtaw Field and proceed through downtown Oscoda. At dusk, gather at Oscoda Beach Park for a spectacular fireworks display.

Oscoda “Mini” Comic Con – July 19

New in 2025, Oscoda will be hosting its own “Mini” Comic Con at From Huron Out from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Superhero meet ups, special guests, music, pet costume contest, gaming room, cosplay, workshops, vendors, and more. Join us for this fun event for all ages!

AuSable River Canoe Marathon – July 26-27

Over the last 75 years, the AuSable River Canoe Marathon has grown to become one of the premier canoe races in the world. This 120-mile race begins in Grayling and is non-stop paddling all the way to Oscoda. Whether you are ready to register to participate or just want to come and watch all of the excitement, you can find the details on the Marathon website.

Pirates & Mermaids Festival – August 1 & 2

New to Oscoda, this unique event invites pirates & mermaids of all ages to join in the fun! Enjoy live music, mermaid themed games and entertainment, vendors, food, with the highlight of the event being an official attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Gathering of People Dressed as MerPeople at Oscoda Beach Park.

Annual Paul Bunyan Days Festival – Sept 12-14

As a nod to Oscoda’s rich history in the lumber industry, each year, the Paul Bunyan Days Festival is held at Furtaw Field in honor of the legendary lumberjack of the Midwest, Paul Bunyan. The festival features a full weekend of chainsaw carving, fun games, music, crafters and demonstrations, an auction, and great food.
