Oscoda Beach Park

Perhaps the first beach that comes to mind when we think of Oscoda is Oscoda Beach Park. 1,025 ft of public access lakeshore, this popular park is rich with family friendly activities throughout the summer months. Of course you will want to walk the pier, enjoy live music at the band shell, and stay for Movies on the Beach at dusk Wednesday nights throughout the summer. But don’t miss the splash pad, skatepark, and playground, which are sure to be popular with the kiddos. And because the location is just 2 blocks from downtown, you are never too far from great places to grab a bite to eat. It’s the ideal beach destination for your next visit to Northern Michigan.

Before You Go

What you take for your day at the beach really depends on who’s on board for this adventure. If you are doing a solo trip, maybe all you will need is sunscreen, a beach chair and a good book. If you are planning a family adventure, you’re likely to need more gear. Sunscreen, towel, and snacks and beverages are at the top of the list, but you may also want to consider beach toys, water shoes, waterproof bag, beach blanket and a big picnic basket full of refreshments to keep everyone happy. The beaches listed all have picnic areas, bathrooms, and kid friendly features for your convenience.
